Chinatown Community

Was supposed to meet some of the Club 7 people tonight, but everyone talked about organising and no one did anything. Received call from Karen and decided to meet her and Mr & Mrs Atom for dinner at Chinatown instead.

Hmmm...it was definitely different from the planned frog porridge. Hahaha, ended up at Smith Street and had satay. It was nice catching up and talking about different stuff from what we used to talk about. Hope Mrs Atom will love her new job as she goes along hehehe...

Was there early and ventured to the open stage where a young band was playing and entertaining the older crowd. Their voices were pretty good, though it can be noticed that they were not familiar with the harmonization for some of the songs. And their bids to try and hype up the community did receive quite a bit of response! Hey, I am surprised, since there was quite a big bunch of the older generation playing chess in the background. Have not watched that for a while and so I did. Still wondering if I will play chess at the void deck when I am that age.

An old man finished his "challenge" of checkers and was getting up to leave. Stood up and fell over. Think he was sitting for too long and he felt dizzy when he got up. Instinctly went over to help him and I felt quite a bit of flurry thoughts as I got him to his feet. It's a little bit scary to grow old and suddenly lose what you have currently. Health, strength, mobility, etc...

Awwww... so much thoughts about no fear of death and all... promise of the life to come... but then again, the practicality of the situation still makes you think sometimes. Mortal thoughts? Hahahaha... without going into spiritual talk and all, the human side of us shows sometimes...

How To Test The Attire Market?

I still remember the time when Andrew was saying the trick to test how far you can go to dress down for the company. So many people want to dress down when they go to work, somehow at least for one day of the week, and somehow again on the Friday. This is something that management can never understand, and yet something that a lot of the staff want. Both cannot convince each other the need/no need for it.

Actually, it is not so much of an issue really. What matters is what needs to be done. A big percentage of the people will not meet any external parties anyway, so I am not sure why there is a need for the certain attire. There are companies, big companies, with their management appearing for the same conferences in jeans and there we are decked in ironed pants, shirt and tie, sometimes even with jacket. No one thinks any lesser for them or any higher for us.

Perception. It is not a matter of what perception you have. The only thing that matters is whose perception is endorsed. Hehehe.

First Day
Me : Long sleeve shirt, Pants, Leather shoes
He : Long sleeve shirt, Pants, Leather shoes

Second Day
Me : Long sleeve shirt, Pants, Leather shoes (better looking pair!)
He : Short sleeve shirt, Pants, Casual leather shoes

Third Day (badminton after course, so brought change of clothes)
Me : Long sleeve shirt, Pants, Leather shoes
He : Short sleeve shirt, Pants, Casual leather shoes

Fourth Day (having crabs after course!!! so...)

He : Short sleeve shirt, Pants, Casual leather shoes

Fifth Day

Wahahaha... according to Andrew's Attire Test, this is a pass.

Training To Be Safe

Back to Singapore from Tokyo trip. I should think there are quite a number of pictures that Qing took. Hahaha, sometimes I always kid that she went to the trips herself since I would always volunteer to be the cameraman. Probably because I think she enjoys being the subject of the picture most of the time :o)

I must say that going to a holiday while on leave does not really allow me to relax properly or take a break. Would ideally prefer to not do anything for a period of time. That will really allow me to relax and take a proper break. Holidays require the planning and coordination, so it can be more hectic in a short time! Though nothing beats having no proper agenda but to do whatever you want. Hee...

Starting my training course tomorrow. It is going to be a little bit more stressed now since I have to get the implementation going the moment I go back. That is going to be not easy. Now is the time to stand up and be counted. Have to shift to a higher gear once I go back. I think it is time that I work at hyper mode.
